Ferrovial Wins 116-MWp Contract for Three New Murcia Solar Farms
- Spanish infrastructure giant Ferrovial will design and build three solar plants totalling 116 MWp in Murcia for TotalEnergies, enough clean power for about 30,500 homes.

Ferrovial SE has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to develop three photovoltaic plants in Spain’s Murcia region, deepening its collaboration with energy major TotalEnergies and local technology partner Soltec. Once energised, the 116-MWp portfolio is expected to feed the grid with emissions-free electricity equivalent to the annual demand of roughly 30,500 households.
The flagship of the trio, Luminora Solar Tres, will account for 95 MWp of the capacity. The site will deploy close to 150,000 bifacial modules mounted on single-axis trackers, alongside a new substation and a 5-km overhead transmission line that will tie the plant into the regional network. Ferrovial is responsible for the full balance-of-system design and grid interconnection.
Complementing Luminora are Fuente Álamo I and II, smaller projects combining for 21 MWp. They will host more than 33,000 bifacial panels and share an 8-km medium-voltage line. Like the flagship plant, both arrays will feature solar trackers to maximise yield throughout the day.
Groundbreaking has already begun, with commercial operation targeted for the second half of 2026. Ferrovial will also operate and maintain the assets for the first two years, ensuring performance as the plants ramp up. According to the developer, the trio will avoid an estimated 4,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually and adds to its growing renewable-energy résumé, which now spans recent Spanish projects such as Trevago I & II (62 MWp) and the Calendula plant (17.8 MWp), as well as a 257-MW solar build underway in Leon County, Texas.
