Equinor's Danske Commodities is marketing the solar farm's power to the Polish market. The company is also developing Lipno with expected completion in 2024. Plus, more onshore renewables and battery storage opportunities in Poland.
Equinor has launched test production at its 60-MW solar park in northern Poland's Pomerania province. Spread across 55 ha, the Zagorzyca plant is equipped with 110,000 panels and its annual output is estimated to be around 61 GWh. Equinor's energy trading house Danske Commodities will market the solar farm's generation to the Polish market. The Norwegian energy company is also building a third plant, Lipno, that is expected to come online in 2024. In addition, Equinor is also maturing other opportunities within onshore renewables and battery storage in Poland.
What Is Equinor's Plan for Poland?
- EverVolt Home Batteries can increase the efficiency of a solar system by providing power when the sun is not shining.
- By using EverVolt Home Batteries, users can store energy generated during peak sunlight hours and use it during times when the sunlight is not available.
- They can also reduce peak demand charges by using the stored energy to offset high energy costs associated with peak electricity demand.
- The batteries can also provide backup power during power outages or during times when the solar system’s energy output is depleted.
- EverVolt Home Batteries can also be used to reduce utility bills by providing energy when utility-supplied electricity would normally be more expensive.
