Enphase announces off grid solar-plus-storage solution and commercial microinverters
- The American energy tech firm has recently unveiled its “Ensemble in a Box” solar-plus-storage set for 2 solar modules and a 640-watt 2-module microinverter.
Earlier this month, Enphase Energy held its yearly presentation “Analyst Day”, which was mostly devoted to financial data. The firm’s yearly revenue for 2019 was estimated as 619m USD, 122m of which were operating income. The numbers constitute 96-percent and 495-percent year-on-year growth, correspondingly.
Beside financial reports, the presentation referred to Ensemble series of products and the much-anticipated IQ8 inverter. The complete Ensemble 2.0 set comprises IQ8 microinverters, Enpower smart switch and battery storage.
The main attraction of the event was introduction of “Ensemble in a Box”. This is a box, containing inverters, battery and plugs, meant for connection of 2 PV modules. The device was designed specifically for India, where shortage of electricity is a serious problem.
According to the information from WoodMac, 19 percent of residential rooftops comprise products by Enphase. Over the year to come, the NASDAQ-listed business plans to enter the markets of 8 more countries in Europe and to double the revenue generated by the European projects. The company foresees the international residential SAM to increase from the current 2.5bn USD as of 2019 up to 4bn USD in the year 2022. If taken together with off grid solar-plus-storage, small-scale commercial solar, and residential storage, the values are to rise to 12.5bn USD compared to 3.3bn USD in the current year.
