Eni's Angolan JV commences deal with 25-MW solar project

- Solenova, a joint venture (JV) between Italian oil and gas major Eni SpA (BIT: ENI) and Angolan state-controlled peer Sonangol, has laid the first stone for a 25-MW solar plant in the southwestern African nation.

The solar park is the initial phase of the 50-MW Caraculo photovoltaic (PV) project that will certainly be situated in Angola's southwestern Namibe province, Eni announced on Friday.
Once in operation, the Caraculo PV facility will produce green electrical power that will certainly be fed into the southern region grid to help the neighborhood community reduce its diesel consumption, reduced emissions and expand its energy mix.
Italian oil multinational Saipem SpA (BIT: SPM) is heading the building deal with the project.
Created in 2019, Solenova has the goal to examine and create renewable energy projects in Angola andd the phased advancement of Caraculo is its first business opportunity.
