Enico and Eaton offer brand new energy storage technology
- Finland’s Enico Oy and Ireland’s Eaton Corp have collaborated to develop an innovative easy-to-deploy battery system for minimization of houses’ footprint. xStorage Container is meant for industrial and commercial self consumption green energy projects.
Tampere-based storage solution developer Enico Oy and Eaton Corporation Inc., a multinational power manager headquartered in Dublin, have created a novel energy storage solution for industrial and commercial self consumption renewable energy systems – xStorage Container.
The developers state their innovative comprehensive battery solution is relatively compact and easy-to-install. The system is easily configurable by means of six-metre long boxes.
The capacity of one container is about 2 megawatt-hours for a new system, and around 500kwh for a second life unit.
Thanks to the patented BMS, load shifting and peak clipping is provided, back-up power supply is reliably islanded, as well as frequency is easily regulated.
The newly created storage system is expected to make self consumption from photovoltaic stations more effective. The solution will integrate e-vehicle charge points and ensure reliable and stable energy supply for houses.
