Dec 9, 2019 05:20 PM ET
- The Portuguese unit of France's Engie SA (EPA:ENGI) has obtained solar energy firm Ikaros Hemero together with a project pipeline of over 50 MWp, local press reported Saturday.
Ikaros operates only in the corporate segment in Portugal, in which it retains about 10 percent of the marketplace with over 30 MWp installed and over 20 MWp under management.
Engie Portugal stated in a statement it regards the purchase as a tactical measure to place itself as a ""pioneer in decentralised solar power in Portugal"". The organization's CEO, Pedro Cruz, added that Ikaros Hemera will still continue to install turnkey PV systems, but will add to its offering integrated solutions that might include investment, maintenance and optimisation of installments too.
Following the merger, the founder and current CEO of Ikaros Hemera Duarte Caro de Sousa will keep on managing the organization.
