EnerVenue, a Fremont, California-based company specialising in metal-hydrogen batteries, has announced a master supply agreement with Brazil's VedantaESS. EnerVenue will provide 525 MWh of its Energy Storage Vessels to VedantaESS over the next three years, with 75 MWh in 2024, 150 MWh in 2025 and 300 MWh in 2026, and will be used across distributed generation, isolated microgrids, and commercial, industrial and utility applications in the Brazilian market.
VedantaESS President Richard Phillips spoke highly of the agreement, citing EnerVenue’s “tremendous longevity, reliability, safety, cost-efficiency and, importantly, flexibility.” EnerVenue currently has over 7 GWh of purchase orders from customers including Pine Gate Renewables, and plans a gigafactory in Kentucky.
