Enel Green Power Spain commissions 3.34-MW solar farm in Mallorca
- Spanish power utility Endesa SA (BME: ELE), via its renewables unit Enel Green Power Espana, has put a 3.34-MW photovoltaic or pv (PV) park right into procedure in Mallorca.
Situated in the municipality of Palma, the Son Orlandis solar plant can creating around 5.67 GWh per year, enough to meet the demand of 1,440 local residences, the business said on Tuesday.
The new solar farm is part of Endesa's 56.6-MWp portfolio in Mallorca. Besides Son Orlandis, EGPE has the 21.83-MW Sa Caseta as well as the 14.97-MW Biniatria solar plants in addition to the Can na Lloreta PV park which is presently incomplete.
With each other, these four possessions were co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for an overall investment of EUR 47 million (USD 46.5 m).
Endesa noted that Son Orlandis will also have a second stage including a 1.1-MW/ 5.5-MWh power storage system of vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFB).
