Endesa X to build 6-MWp self-supply solar farm for PortAventura resort

- Spanish energy services solid Endesa X will install a 6.05-MWp solar farm for self-consumption for PortAventura World, a resort as well as a theme park outside of Barcelona.

Endesa X, a division of Spanish utility Endesa SA (BME: ELE), stated that the client will completely finance the task with a financial investment of greater than EUR 4.8 million (USD 5m).
The building of the PortAventura Solar plant will begin shortly ashore within the resort. Endesa X expects to populate an area spanning 6.4 hectares (15.8 acres) with over 11,000 solar panels and conclude works in concerning 4 months.
PortAventura Solar is estimated to be efficient in creating some 10 GWh of electrical power each year, which would certainly suffice to cover regarding a third of the resort's consumption demands.
