Elera Powers Vivo's Brazil Ops with 237 MWp Solar

This week, Brazilian renewable energy company Elera Renovaveis announced an agreement with Spanish telecommunication company Telefonica SA to supply 237 MWp of solar power from the 1.2 GW Janauba solar complex. Located in Minas Gerais, the complex consists of 20 distinct solar farms, with the output generated by these farms used to power more than 200 of the local telecom’s consumer units. Additionally, a portion of the electricity from the complex will be delivered to support the operation of Rio de Janeiro’s water and sewerage utility Aguas do Rio. This green energy initiative will reduce 76% of Vivo's energy consumption and provide clean energy to power 1.8 million local homes.
