The most recent project takes EGE Haina's installed renewable resource capacity to 300 MW, produced by its wind and also solar farms, the company stated.

The investment in Girasol completed around USD 100 million (EUR 82.5 m). The solar farm occupies a 200-hectare area in the municipality of Yaguate. The project used 268,200 photovoltaic panels, which were supplied by China's Trina Solar Carbon monoxide Ltd (SHA: 688599) and mounted on trackers that rotate by 104 degrees.

Spanish framework building contractor Elecnor SA (BME: ENO) was employed to build the plant.

According to the Dominican Republic's national energy compensation, Girasol is the biggest solar PV farm in the nation and also in the whole Antilles region.
