EDPR bags solar PPA for 110-MW project in US
- Renewable energy giant EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI: EDPR) said on Thursday it has authorized an agreement to market the output of a 110-MW solar project in the United States state of Illinois.

Under the power purchase agreement (PPA), the renewables arm of Portuguese utility EDP (ELI: EDP) will market the green power to an off-taker, the name of which was not disclosed, for a 15-year period.
According to the company, the unnamed scheduled solar plant is set to begin power operations in 2024.
EDPR kept in mind that the brand-new PPA allowed the firm to secure around 44% of the 17-GW renewable energy additions target it developed in March of this year.
The most recent agreement begins the heels of 2 bargains for EDPR in the US in April. A few days back, EDPR agreed with Google to establish more than 80 distributed solar projects with an incorporated capacity of 500 MW AC, or 650 MWp, in 6 US states. Earlier in April, the company authorized a PPA for a 198-MW wind project in Indiana.
