EDF Renewables UK intends 49.9-MW solar farm in Northamptonshire
- EDF Renewables UK intends to develop a 49.9-MW solar farm at Glassthorpe in Northamptonshire, England.

EDF Energy, the UK generation service of French energy EDF (EPA: EDF), said today the business has begun a public assessment that will close on July 5. Following the examination, it prepares to submit a planning application with West Northamptonshire Council later on in 2021. It has already completed a variety of ecological as well as usefulness surveys.
According to EDF Renewables' head of advancement Stephen Walls, the website is outstanding for a solar farm, "as it's appropriately sunny, with an agreed grid link, and the location is well evaluated."
The solar farm would certainly be built on 88 hectare (217.5 acre) of land and also connected to the grid at the Northampton West substation. It would be capable of creating enough electrical energy to satisfy the demands of 9,562 houses a year.
EDF Renewables UK has a portfolio of 37 operating renewable energy sites and also almost 4 GW of renewables projects in preparation as well as advancement.
