The application was lodged recently by project automobile Rich Road Solar Energy Center LLC, shown an official filing with the New york city Office of Renewable Energy Siting (ORES).

The Rich Road photovoltaic (PV) farm is prepared to be integrated in the Town of Canton, St Lawrence County, covering around 1,700 acres (4,200 ha) of land. Once in operation, it is expected to produce adequate electrical power to meet the need of 61,000 residences each year. According to the project website, industrial operations are prepared to be accomplished in 2025.

The complex is intended to be paired with a 20-MW/80-MWh battery energy storage system.

Rich Road was among the schemes that were awarded lasting contracts by the New york city State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) as part of a state solicitation for large-scale renewable energy certificates (RECs). EDF Renewables was last summer introduced to be effective with three projects amounting to 940 MW of solar and 60 MW of battery storage space capacity.
