Duke and Amazon: 2-MW Rooftop Solar Project In Kentucky

• Duke Energy and Amazon have launched a 2-MW rooftop solar project in Northern Kentucky, providing clean energy to 400 homes and businesses. The project is part of Amazon's commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2040. Duke Energy has three other solar sites in the region.

On Thursday, Duke Energy and Amazon announced a 2-MW rooftop solar project in Northern Kentucky. The 5,600 photovoltaic panels will be installed on the 800,000-square-foot roof of Amazon's Air Hub adjacent to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The project will provide energy to about 400 homes and businesses in the area. It is part of Amazon's commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2040. Duke Energy already has three other solar sites in the region. The launch of the rooftop project comes shortly after Duke Energy agreed to sell its commercial distributed generation business to ArcLight Capital Partners LLC and its commercial renewables business to Brookfield Renewable.

What Benefits Will Duke Energy's Rooftop Solar Project Bring?
