DTEK Restores Ukrainian PV Plant Ravaged by Russian Shelling

• DTEK Renewables have successfully restored the Niko Solar power plant in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine, despite heavy damage from Russian shelling. They also restored the Trifonivskaya solar plant to 100% capacity within a few weeks. DTEK Renewables have successfully restored the Niko Solar power plant in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine. 90% of the generating equipment of the plant was damaged by Russian shelling, but the company had acquired experience from restoring their own solar projects and was able to fix the plant. A few months before, they had also managed to restore the Trifonivskaya solar plant in a few weeks and repair it to 100% capacity. Oleksandr Selishchev, chief executive of DTEK Renewables, said they are also ready to help other companies to ensure energy supply and security for the people in the region.

How Did DTEK Renewables Restore Damage to Niko Solar Plant?

• DTEK Renewables employed experienced technicians to assess the damage and plan the repairs for the Niko Solar plant.
• They used the experience gained from repairing their own solar projects to expedite the repair process.
• After the damage was assessed, they replaced the damaged generating equipment with new ones.
• They also replaced broken cables and towers, stabilised the ground and made other necessary repairs.
• The repairs were completed in a few weeks and the plant was restored to full capacity.
