- Cuba has recently broadened a 10-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant to 15 MW of overall capacity with the help of funding from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD).

The Abu Dhabi-based financial institution claimed in a declaration on Sunday that the grid-connected project was scaled up with the savings from the concessionary financing of USD 15 million (EUR 12.7 m) that was provided by it under the 2nd cycle of the ADFD-IRENA Facility. The balance was covered by the federal government of Cuba.
ADFD better noted that the take advantage of this project have actually motivated it to support a 2nd 14.3-MW solar plan that will include 4 MW of battery storage space capability. It has assigned USD 20 million towards this project under the seventh cycle of the ADFD-IRENA Facility.
