The state-supervised corporation will invest $2.43b into alternative energy generation facilities in the north of China. The project capacity will include 1 gigawatt of PV modules.

Besides, CNG is going to finance deployment of 2-gigawatt wind farm located in Inner Mongolia.

The compliance reviews along with administrative procedures are scheduled for the first six month of 2020. The construction is planned to begin by August and to complete in the following year.

The energy giant was established in 1994. At that time, it was meant for operating the first Chinese nuclear power installation. Later on, the company has transformed into green energy enterprise. The corporation is currently operating 4.4 gigawatts of photovoltaic and 12.7 gigawatts of wind capacities throughout all the Chinese provinces. In total, CNG has invested into over 300 local renewable energy ventures. In addition to domestic pipeline, the group’s portfolio includes 13.4 gigawatts of clean energy facilities abroad.

Nei Mongol Autonomous Region is characterized by high solar potential. The creation of UHV transmission lines in NMAR has allowed setting a curtailment target of about zero for solar power and of one tenth for wind-generated electricity.
