  • Acciona Energia starts site mobilisation for a $195M, 235-MWp Fleming County solar park in Kentucky, creating up to 300 jobs, targeting operations in May 2028.

Acciona Energia said it will begin site mobilisation in the coming weeks to build a 235-MWp solar park in Kentucky’s Fleming County. The Fleming photovoltaic farm, representing an estimated $195 million investment, will be the Spanish company’s fifth solar project in the U.S., adding to its 3-GW U.S. renewable portfolio spanning photovoltaics, solar-thermal, wind and energy storage.

Acciona expects the project to start operating in May 2028. It anticipates up to 300 local jobs during peak construction. Earlier this week, Waaree Energies’ U.S. unit said it received an order to supply solar modules totaling 236.22 MW for a utility-scale project in Flemingsburg, also in Fleming County, though the client was not identified.
