CESC Expands Solar Portfolio with Rajasthan Acquisition

CESC Limited has acquired a 300 MW under-construction solar park developer, Bhadla Three SKP Green Ventures Private Limited, in Rajasthan. The acquisition was done by Purvah Green Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of CESC Limited, for a total sale consideration of Rs 3.84 crore. The target company is developing a solar park in Phalodi District, Rajasthan, and has necessary approvals for interstate evacuation of solar power.
The Bhadla Solar Park in Rajasthan is one of the largest solar parks in India, spread across 56 sq km with a current capacity of 2,245 megawatts. In other renewable energy news, Avaada Energy has secured Rs 4,471 crore in refinancing from NaBFID, while POWERGRID has won contracts to establish three inter-state transmission systems in Rajasthan to evacuate 18 GW of power from various plants.
