Celsia reduces ribbon on 9.8-MW solar farm in Colombia
- Latin American power manufacturer and representative Celsia introduced procedure of its 9.8-MW El Carmelo solar farm in Colombia, the company introduced over the weekend break.

The COP-38-billion (USD 9.9 m/EUR 8.4 m) project came as a result of Celsia's partnership with London-based renewables capitalist Cubico Sustainable Investments, which both parties created in 2019. At the time, they were intending to develop as well as run as much as 400 MW of solar PV capacity in Colombia.
The new solar farm, full name Celsia Solar El Carmelo, will produce 3.7 MW for the nationwide grid and 6.1 MW for a manufacturing facility of chicken meat producer Pollos Bucanero.
Pollos Bucanero, which is possessed US food group Cargill, will please 39.3% of the manufacturing facility's requirements with El Carmelo's solar power, Celsia stated.
Located in the division of Valle del Cauca, El Carmelo is the business's fourth large-scale solar farm in Colombia. Celsia currently boasts 37.56 MW of capability from bigger solar farms and also one more 21 MW of roof and ground-mounted selections across the country, it stated.
One solar farm in Panama as well as Honduras each round out Celsia's portfolio of larger plants.
The business said that is has 15 even more solar farm projects in assessment, which it prepares to establish with Cubico Sustainable Investments. These projects will bring near to 650 MW to different areas of Colombia and enter industrial operation in the next 18 to 24 months, Celsia added.
