Capacity additions lift India's 9-mo solar power output by 36%.
- India's solar photovoltaic or pv (PV) parks created 70.24 billion kWh of electricity in the initial nine months of 2022, noting a 36% rise in annual terms, statistics by Mercom India Research show.

The development came as a result of the new capacity additions in the reporting period. In the 3rd quarter alone, India's solar farms was in charge of 22.61 billion kWh of the overall power manufacturing. While the total was 11% lower than in the coming before quarter, it increased by 41% from the very same quarter a year previously.
At the end of September, India had 163.7 GW of renewable energy capacity in operation, including huge hydropower plants. Renewables made up 40.3% of the complete power capacity mix, according to the latest edition of Mercom's India Solar Project Tracker. The share of solar PV in the country's entire power capacity in operation stood at 14.7%, while the innovation had a 36.4% share in the mounted renewable energy fleet.
