Brazil's June Energy Update: 744 MW Added

Brazil added 743.95 MW of wind and solar power capacity in June, with new solar farms contributing 451.15 MW and wind parks adding 292.8 MW. In total, the country added 889.51 MW of new capacity in June, including contributions from thermal plants. Over the first six months of the year, Brazil's electricity system expanded by 5,670.32 MW across various technologies. As of July, Brazil had a total installed power generation capacity of 203,895.63 MW, with hydro, wind, and biomass being the largest renewable sources in the electricity mix.
Aneel projects that Brazil's electricity generation will increase by 10.1 GW by 2024, reflecting the country's ongoing efforts to expand its renewable energy capacity and diversify its energy sources.
