Boralex Inaugurates 15.9MW Solar Park to Power Metro France

- Boralex has inaugurated a 15.9-MWp solar park in France, which will produce 23 GWh of electricity annually. Metro France has signed a 20-year PPA for the output, helping it reach its goal of 100% renewable energy by 2030.
Boralex has inaugurated a 15.9-MWp solar park in the Occitania region of France. The Grange du Causse complex consists of 30,000 PV panels and will be capable of producing around 23 GWh of electricity annually. Metro France has contracted the output under a 20-year fixed-price power purchase agreement (PPA) starting from January 2024, which will provide electricity for around 20% of the catering supplier’s annual power needs. Metro France is aiming to switch to 100% renewable energy by 2030 and reduce its carbon footprint by 60% from 2014 levels by the end of the decade.
