BNZ obtains go-ahead to develop 53-MWp solar plant in Italy

- Independent power producer (IPP) BNZ, part of London-based fund manager Glennmont Partners, has obtained authorisation to commence the construction of a 53-MWp solar plant in Italy's Lazio region.
The business said today it anticipates the photovoltaic (PV) park to be functional in 2023. Found in Viterbo district, the solar farm must be able to create adequate power to provide electricity for regarding 17,000 people per year.
Along with producing in between 300 and 410 direct and indirect jobs with this project, the IPP will also buy agrivoltaic initiatives associated with the cultivation of olive trees and the implementation of beehives at the PV plant location.
This is the second solar park the business is building in that region. In December 2021, it obtained the go-ahead for a 45-MWp PV facility.
The firm targets around 500 MWp of capability by 2024 in Italy.
