BNZ launches 74 MW solar farms in Spain

BNZ, an independent power producer focused on Southern Europe, has inaugurated two solar photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 74 MW in Cadiz province, southern Spain. The Alya and Alamak solar farms, located in Alcala de los Gazules, are the first facilities opened by BNZ in Spain. These projects were built by Spanish developer Grupotec, which sold a portfolio of solar projects to BNZ's parent group Nuveen Infrastructure in 2021.
BNZ plans to install approximately 600 MWp of solar capacity in Spain by 2026 as part of its goal to reach over 1.7 GW of solar PV across Southern Europe by the end of 2026. The company's expansion in the region reflects the growing trend towards renewable energy sources and the increasing investment in solar power projects.
