Biden vetos solar tariff moratorium strategy
- ACORE welcomes the move to stop an adjustment to the policies for renewable developers
The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) has invited President Biden's veto to halt congressional initiatives to repeal the solar tariff moratorium.
ACORE president and chief executive Gregory Wetstone stated: "President Biden's veto today is a welcome step to avoid a disastrous influence on the United States economic situation and ensure proceeding development towards the clean energy change and our climate goals.
" The Congressional Review Act abolition passed by Congress would certainly have changed the rules renewable designers and also makers trust, causing several dozens of canceled solar tasks, 10s of thousands of shed tasks, as well as an unsafe boost in carbon discharges.
" Thanks to the President's veto, the United States solar industry can currently resume its growth as we expand our residential manufacturing base to better satisfy the growing US need for photovoltaic panels."
