- BayWa r.e. and Goodman Group have agreed to build 18 MWp of rooftop solar capacity at Marl Logistics Centre, Germany's largest single-roof solar system. 43,000 modules will be installed by end of 2023. This project is part of Goodman's target to reach 400 MWp of PV installed globally by 2025. 24 projects and 60 MWp installed this year.
BayWa r.e. and Goodman Group have agreed to build 18 MWp of rooftop solar capacity at the Marl Logistics Centre in Germany. The two separate roofs will each have a capacity of 6 MWp and 12 MWp, respectively, with the latter being the largest single-roof solar system in Germany. The facility will have more than 43,000 modules and the electricity generated will be fed into the grid. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, and is part of Goodman's strategy to reach 400 MWp of solar PV installed globally by 2025. This year, the two companies are expecting to reach 24 installed projects with a combined total capacity of 60 MWp.
What Are the Details of the 18 MWp Rooftop Solar Project in Germany?
- The solar park will reduce carbon emissions by providing an alternative source of energy, which is clean and renewable.
- The project is expected to generate enough electricity to meet the needs of approximately 6,000 households annually.
- The solar park will also reduce the need for fossil fuel-generated electricity, which will help reduce harmful emissions from power plants.
- The solar park will also help to reduce the demand for electricity generated from coal plants, as it will provide a more efficient and cost-effective source of electricity.
- The solar park will also create jobs in the local area, and provide a boost to the local economy.
