The Pond Energy Park facility, located near Bathgate in the West Lothian council area, is expected to cost over GBP 100 million and could supply the average demand of 600,000 homes for two hours. A planning application for the project is expected to be lodged later this year, followed by community consultations. Canadian investment firm Brookfield Asset Management recently agreed to acquire Banks Renewables in a deal valued at nearly USD 1 billion. The business is developing a range of wind, solar and storage projects and currently has 11 onshore wind farms in operation.
