Azerbaijan to develop floating solar power plant
- Azerbaijan will construct a floating solar power plant with a total ability of 100 kW on Boyukshor Lake near funding Baku, the Energy Ministry's press solution has reported.
The first meeting on the launch of the pilot project for the plant building was hung on February 5 between the Azerbaijan Energy Ministry and the Gamma Solutions firm, the winner of the tender for the project.
Throughout the meeting, the company provided the working principles associated with the project, the team mobilized, project's timetable and also discussed the forthcoming work.
It needs to be noted that Gamma Solutions was chosen with the tender for the engineering, purchase, building, 2 years of operation and upkeep of the floating solar terminal.
Together with international business, neighborhood business participated in the tender.
The purchase was executed by the professional business EGO-NIXUS, and as a result of the propositions' examination, the worldwide company Gamma Solutions was proclaimed the champion of the tender, and an agreement was authorized with the business.
The construction of the plant is intended to be carried out together with local companies.
It must be kept in mind that the project is executed within the framework of the regional project "Advancement of Floating Solar Energy Equipments", covering Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and also Afghanistan, implemented under the Knowledge as well as Support Technical Aid Program of the Asian Advancement Financial Institution.
