- Atrato Onsite Energy plc has acquired a 34-MW portfolio of rooftop solar systems in England and Wales for GBP 77.3 million. The contracts are expected to produce 681 GWh of electricity and have very low exposure to wholesale power prices. Demand for residential solar is increasing due to EPC regulations.
Atrato Onsite Energy plc has announced the acquisition of a 34-MW operational rooftop solar portfolio spread across England and Wales. The UK-based renewable investment trust will pay GBP 77.3 million for the portfolio, which comprises 9,549 photovoltaic (PV) systems with 12-year feed-in tariffs at an attractive rate of 2%. The portfolio has generated 291 GWh of electricity to date and is expected to produce another 390 GWh over the remaining life. The buyer said the contracts have very low exposure to wholesale power prices. ROOF also noted that demand for residential solar is set to increase as all newly rented properties will need to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of at least “C” by 2025.
