Astronergy Invests $53M in Tandem Solar Cell Project
- Astronergy invests $53M in pioneering tandem solar cell R&D, transforming idle space into a cutting-edge innovation hub in Zhejiang, China.
Astronergy has launched a new project titled “Key Technologies and Complete Equipment for New Crystalline Silicon–Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells” in Haining City, Zhejiang Province, China. The initiative, with a planned investment of RMB 381.1 million (over USD$53 million), will utilize a 5,000-square-meter idle factory space at No. 1 Jisheng Road, Jiashan New District. The project aims to develop a comprehensive tandem photovoltaic technology solution, focusing on the efficient and stable fabrication of perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem solar cells.
Scheduled to begin in October 2025 and complete by December 2027, the project will establish an evaluation system and develop technical standards for tandem solar cells. It will be used solely for internal R&D purposes without generating additional output value. Astronergy, a smart manufacturing enterprise under the Chint Group, specializes in photovoltaic cells and modules, and provides technical services for solar power generation.
