Albany County Breaks Ground on 2.1-MW Solar Farm

- Albany County, NYPA, and project partners break ground on a 2.1 MW solar project to benefit taxpayers and the local community. Educational programs for students and native pollinators to be included in the project, with construction set to be complete in 2024.
On September 5, 2020 Albany County, NYPA, and project partners broke ground on a 2.1 MW solar project on five acres of county property. The project is being developed by Siemens and the solar power will be owned and operated by Calibrant Energy. The power generated from this site is expected to benefit county taxpayers in the long-term. The project will include an educational program for local students and native pollinators to enhance the green intent of the project. Construction is expected to be complete in 2024.
