Aisin Corp Signs VPPA for 50 MW from Texas Solar Plant

  • Aisin Corp, a Japanese automotive parts supplier, has partnered with Greenalia to reserve 50 MW of energy from Texas' Misae II solar project. Greenalia will generate 130 GWh of electricity annually for Aisin's North American unit, 18% of the project's capacity. Misae II is expected to be operational by late 2025 and could expand up to 695 MWdc.

Japanese automotive parts supplier Aisin Corp has signed a VPPA with Spanish renewables developer Greenalia to reserve 50 MW of capacity from the Misae II solar project in Texas for its operations in North America. Greenalia will generate around 130 GWh of electricity per year on behalf of Aisin’s North American unit, amounting to 18% of the project’s nameplate capacity. The Misae II solar farm is expected to become operational in late 2025 and has plans to expand to a maximum 695 MWdc. A month ago, Greenalia announced a VPPA with another motor vehicle parts manufacturer for the same project.
