  • Pacific Partnerships secures rights to massive solar park in NSW, set to power 280,000 homes with cutting-edge battery storage technology.

Pacific Partnerships, a subsidiary of CIMIC, has acquired the development rights to a 700-MW solar park with a proposed battery energy storage system in New South Wales. The Cobbora Solar Farm project, purchased from Marble Energy, will be one of Australia's largest photovoltaic farms. Pacific Partnerships will manage the delivery and operations of the solar-storage site, with UGL overseeing development activities and plant maintenance post-commissioning.

The Cobbora PV park, spanning 3,000 hectares east of Dubbo, will generate electricity for approximately 280,000 homes annually. The site, located on cleared grazing land, will accommodate batteries up to 1,600 MWh and continue sheep grazing post-installation. An Environmental Impact Statement is expected to be submitted in late 2024 after public feedback is collected.
