What is Snow load?

Snow can create a huge load for a solar installation. A heavy mass of snow can damage photovoltaic arrays. That is why, it is vital to consider snow loads while planning and constructing a photovoltaic installation. Snow loads are measured in the units of force – kilonewtons. Thus, Germany has five snow load areas. Mean snow load has been calculated for each area based on the data from the last thirty years.
