What are Nuclear reactions?

A type of reactions associated with changes in an atomic nucleus (which distinguishes them from chemical reactions). Nuclear reactions discharge lots of energy as a result of transformation of a part of the nucleus mass into energy in accordance with Einstein's famous equation E =mc2. Solar energy is released as a result of nuclear fusion of hydrogen nuclei into the nucleus of helium. The reaction is induced by enormous pressure and heat within the solar core.
