What is Megawatt (MW)?
A standard unit of electric power. Commonly used to measure the capacity of a power generating plant. 1 megawatt is equal to a million watts, or a thousand kilowatts. 1.5 kW is sufficient for powering a normal electric kettle, while 2.6 MW is required for powering a haul truck that carries 290 tons of ore up the hill.
