What is Flat-plate module?

A PV module installed on a rigid flat surface, consisting of non-concentrating cells exposed freely to incoming solar radiation and utilizing direct as well as diffuse solar energy. However, fixed arrays lose some direct light due to oblique angles of sunbeams relative to the installation.
