Shizen Energy, Microsoft Partner on Inuyama Solar Plant

Shizen Energy Group has completed the construction of the Inuyama Solar Power Plant in Japan, with a rated output of 31 MW DC / 25 MW AC and an estimated annual output of 37,000 kWh. The plant, which commenced commercial operation in February 2024, is expected to provide enough electricity for approximately 7,850 households. The completion ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including the Mayor of Inuyama City and representatives from Societe Generale and Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ).
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions Corporation will manage the electricity from the plant and sell it to the market as an aggregator. Additionally, environmental attributes from the plant will be supplied to Microsoft for 20 years under a virtual power purchase agreement (PPA) between Shizen Energy Inc. and Microsoft. Shizen Energy Group, along with its partners, aims to continue developing renewable energy projects to contribute to a more sustainable future and achieve a 100% renewable energy world.
