Industrial park gets concession for 50-MW rooftop PV in Dominican Republic

- The Dominican Republic's national energy commission CNE stated on Thursday it had actually granted the definitive concession for a 50-MW/60-MWp roof solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the country.
Corporacion Zona Franca Santiago (CZFS), a domestic firm that operates a free-zone industrial park in Santiago province, safeguarded the concession for 25 years to know its Zonaxol solar project.
CZFS, via the Zonaxol project vehicle, will mount solar arrays on rooftops of several business doing business in the Santiago industrial park. According to CNE, electrical energy from the arrays will be cost half the regular cost of the distributors.
CNE included that it will get to completion of the year with 19 projects under concessions.
