Japan Benex Switches on 4-MW Roof-Rented PV Array
Japan Benex Corporation has launched a 4-MW rooftop solar array in Ibaraki prefecture, central Japan. The Benex Tsukuba 3 Solar Port is one of the largest operational roof-rented photovoltaic arrays in the country, featuring 7,280 solar modules capable of producing 4.16 million kWh of electricity annually, enough to meet the demand of around 1,385 households. Osaka Gas Co Ltd will benefit from the electricity and environmental value produced. Japan Benex owns 39 power plants with a combined capacity of 47.7 MW, of which 38.7 MW are roof-rented solar power plants. What Is Japan Benex's 4-MW Rooftop Array? The sale of the stake in Enel Green Power Australia to Inpex Corp. includes the transfer of 50% ownership of the company's renewable energy assets. These assets include three solar farms totalling 310 MW, as well as 170 MW of wind and solar parks currently being developed. The most significant of these renewable energy projects is Japan Benex's 4-MW rooftop array, located in the state of Victoria. This array is powered by advanced solar photovoltaic technologies and is set to provide enough electricity to power more than 9,000 households. In addition to the rooftop array, the transaction also includes Enel Green Power Australia's 20-MW Warradarge wind farm in Western Australia. This wind farm is equipped with seven wind turbines and is projected to produce enough electricity to power over 29,000 households.

Japan Benex Unveils 2-MW Solar Array in Ibaraki
Japan Benex Corporation has launched a 2-MWdc rooftop solar array at its logistics facility in Ibaraki Prefecture, located on Japan’s eastern Pacific coast. The installation reflects the company's commitment to sustainable energy solutions and its efforts to reduce carbon emissions. The solar array will enhance the facility’s energy efficiency and contribute to Japan's broader goals of increasing renewable energy usage. This move aligns with the nation's push towards sustainable industrial practices amidst growing environmental concerns. How is Benex Corporation's new solar installation impacting Japan's renewable energy goals? Increased Renewable Energy Capacity: Benex Corporation's 2-MWdc solar installation adds significant capacity to Japan’s renewable energy portfolio, helping the country meet its targets for increased solar energy adoption. Japan aims to generate 24% of its energy from renewables by 2030, and installations like this contribute towards that goal. Support for Decarbonization Efforts: The new solar array is part of Benex’s broader initiative to reduce carbon emissions within their operations. Japan has set ambitious decarbonization targets, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050. By enhancing energy efficiency through renewable technologies, the company aids in this crucial effort. Local Economic Benefits: The installation of the rooftop solar array not only supports Japan's renewable energy objectives but also provides local economic benefits. It creates job opportunities during the installation phase and potentially leads to ongoing employment for maintenance and operation of the solar systems. Energy Independence: By generating its own clean energy, Benex Corporation is reducing its reliance on fossil fuels. This contributes to Japan's broader strategy of energy independence and enhances energy security, particularly in light of potential supply chain vulnerabilities. Showcase for Sustainable Practices: The logistics facility serves as a model for other businesses in the region, demonstrating the feasibility and advantages of adopting solar energy. This could inspire similar initiatives among other companies, amplifying the overall impact on Japan’s renewable energy landscape. Alignment with Government Initiatives: The installation aligns with governmental efforts to promote the use of solar energy through policies and incentives, such as feed-in tariffs and subsidies for renewable projects. This partnership between the government and private sector is crucial for achieving shared sustainability targets. Awareness and Community Engagement: Such projects can also serve to raise awareness about renewable energy solutions among local communities, encouraging them to consider similar sustainable practices and thus fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. Technological Advancement: The implementation of advanced solar technologies in this facility supports innovation in the renewable sector, which is vital for enhancing efficiency and reducing costs in solar energy generation. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): By investing in renewable energy, Benex Corporation is reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility, promoting environmentally-friendly practices that resonate with increasingly eco-conscious consumers and stakeholders. Contribution to Climate Goals: This project represents a tangible contribution to Japan's climate goals under international agreements such as the Paris Agreement, further placing Japan on a path to mitigating climate change impacts through increased sustainability measures.
