The effectiveness of the solar cell, which is made with a basic M2 wafer, was raised by around 0.7% through an improved busbarless screen printing metallization process based on heterojunction (HJT) processes developed with production devices supplied by Swiss professional Meyer Hamburger.

Italian manufacturer Sunerg has developed a solar module for BIPV applications which is said to offer a wide range of options to better match the architectural vision and the design of a building. The 275 kW monocrystalline PERC panel is available in mahogany brown, reddish brown, bottle green and black-grey.

Only one 5 MW solar project was selected in the 500 MW auction, while wind project developers secured the remaining 495 MW. Final price for the selected solar park was €50/MWh.

Italian scientific team has developed a new method combining the Hovel model with SMM. The novel approach allows describing electromagnetic radiation in a PV cell more accurately, considering interference effects. The device under examination is based on Ge, InGaAs and InGaP. The corresponding anti-reflection coating can make a cell with 3-5 junctions 50-percent efficient.

Spain’s renewable credentials have attracted the eye of an Italian infrastructure investor. Already, the Italian has acquired a PV Developer and the merchant projects it was working on.

Economic thinktank Carbon Tracker used financial modeling to determine the profitability of every coal power plant in the EU. On average, 79% of the facilities run at a loss, with Germany, Spain and Czechia among the states particularly exposed to the consequences – for coal investors and the public.

The manufacturing facility, idled a few years ago, will produce bifacial modules. The company claims panel efficiency exceeds 20.5% and the factory has an annual production capacity of around 200 MW.

The Italian fossil fuel company is not hanging around when it comes to diversifying into PV, with almost 1.5 GW of generation capacity plugged in since the start of last year.
