OneEnergy Secures $51M for Wisconsin Solar Expansion
- OneEnergy powers Wisconsin's future with $50.9M solar boost, energizing 10,000 homes and cutting 45,000 tons of CO₂ annually.

OneEnergy has secured $50.9 million in financing to construct a 47-MW solar portfolio in Wisconsin, comprising seven photovoltaic plants ranging from 4 MW to 8 MW each. The projects, including the Walleye Solar Farm in Dunn County, will supply power directly to the rural grid, covering the annual electricity needs of approximately 10,000 homes and offsetting over 45,000 tons of CO₂ annually. Rabobank Wholesale Banking North America arranged and underwrote the debt package, aligning with its strategy to finance renewable infrastructure and support regional decarbonization.
This financing marks OneEnergy's second major milestone in Wisconsin within six months, following a November 2024 agreement to deliver two utility-scale solar farms totaling 165 MW in Columbia County. The new 47-MW portfolio complements these larger projects, emphasizing OneEnergy's strategy of combining utility-scale and community-scale initiatives to retain local economic benefits. Founded in Seattle, OneEnergy operates from multiple U.S. hubs and has developed over 1 GW of solar nationwide, focusing on landowner engagement and pollinator-friendly site design. The Wisconsin projects are expected to become operational in stages through late 2026, contributing to the state's rapidly growing solar capacity.
How will OneEnergy's new solar projects impact Wisconsin's renewable energy landscape?
