Founder Group wins Malaysia 30-MW solar EPCC, expands pipeline footprin
Malaysia’s Founder Group Ltd (NASDAQ: FGL) has secured a contract to deliver engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) for a 30-MW solar project in the country, adding momentum to its regional utility-scale portfolio. While the project owner and site specifics have not been disclosed, the award covers full turnkey delivery—from detailed design and equipment sourcing to construction, grid integration and final commissioning.  Founder Group’s EPCC scope typically spans civil works, mounting structures, inverters and balance-of-plant, along with quality assurance and performance testing before handover. The company said the build will leverage established supply-chain relationships and local project delivery teams, with employment opportunities during construction and long-term O&M needs once the plant is energised.  Malaysia has been accelerating large-scale solar to diversify the grid and lower generation emissions, creating a steady pipeline for domestic and international contractors. Against this backdrop, EPCC awards of this size help lock in timelines and capital allocation, and provide clear line-of-sight from design to commissioning under a single accountable counterparty. For investors, such contracts can also improve revenue visibility by converting bids into executable backlog.    The 30-MW plant will contribute to steady growth in Malaysia’s installed PV base and help utilities manage daytime demand with zero-fuel, low-variable-cost generation. As additional projects layer into the system—often paired with grid enhancements and, increasingly, storage—solar build-out is expected to play a larger role in meeting peak demand and moderating wholesale power prices over time.
