Voltalia SA's subsidiary Helexia has begun construction on a 2 MW rooftop solar power project for Leroy Merlin in Portugal, marking a milestone for the company as its total power capacity now exceeds 3 GW. CEO Sebastien Clerc announced that Voltalia has surpassed the 3 GW mark, with a target of reaching around 3.3 GW by 2024, including 2.5 GW in operation.
Looking ahead, Voltalia aims to achieve over 5 GW of total capacity in operation and under construction by 2027, with projects such as the 130-MW Gafsa solar project in Tunisia and 550 MW of storage in Uzbekistan. This expansion reflects the company's commitment to renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.
