UK's Mallard Pass Solar Farm Approved for 350-MW Project
- Windel Energy and Recurrent Energy's Mallard Pass Solar Farm approved in England, set to power 92,000 homes with 350,000 MWh of green energy annually.
Windel Energy and Recurrent Energy have received approval for their 350-MW Mallard Pass Solar Farm project in England. The development consent order was issued by the British Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. The solar farm will be located on agricultural land in South Kesteven, Lincolnshire, and Rutland, near a National Grid substation at Uffington Lane.
The Mallard Pass project is expected to generate around 350,000 MWh of green power annually, enough to power approximately 92,000 British homes. The DCO application was submitted in November 2022 and underwent examination starting in May last year. The project required a DCO as it exceeds 50 MW and is classified as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project.
