TotalEnergies to begin service 1-GW solar project in Iraq
- French energy significant TotalEnergies SE (EPA: TTE) is set to start service a project for the construction of a 1-GW solar park in southerly Iraq after getting the green light from the city government recently.
The next steps in the development of the project were talked about by Iraq's electrical energy minister Ziad Ali Fadhil as well as TotalEnergies' head of renewable resource in the nation Khaled Al-Abdali at a meeting on Monday, according to a statement by the ministry.
During the conference, Khaled Al-Abdali expressed the firm's readiness to start the project and also participate in such campaigns in partnership with the Ministry of Electricity.
The gigawatt-scale solar plant will be built in the Artawi oil area in Basra Governorate.

Besides TotalEnergies, Chinese state-owned empire Power Construction Corp of China (Power China) likewise obtained the green light from the Iraqi closet last week for its 750-MW solar project in the south of the Arab nation.
