SK Group partners with BCGE to boost Vietnam renewables
- SK Eco Plant and BCGE team up to develop 700 MW of renewable energy projects in Vietnam, including wind and solar installations. A green partnership for a sustainable future.
SK Eco Plant, a part of South Korea's SK Group, has partnered with Vietnam-based Bamboo Capital Group Energy (BCGE) to develop a 700 MW portfolio of renewable energy projects in Vietnam. The projects will include onshore wind, rooftop, and ground-mounted solar installations. The parties have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and are also exploring other potential renewable energy projects in the country.
The plan includes adding 300 MW of onshore wind capacity in the Gia Lai highland area in central Vietnam, known for its abundant wind resources. Additionally, 300 MW will be allocated for rooftop solar projects and 100 MW for ground-mounted solar installations. The partnership aims to secure carbon emissions rights under the United Nations' Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to offset greenhouse gas emissions or sell credits to other companies.
