RWE commissions 44MW Casa Valdes
- Solar project features bifacial modules near to Spanish capital Madrid
RWE has commissioned the 44MW Casa Valdes solar farm in Spain.
The project lies in the province of Guadalajara, near Madrid.
Casa Valdes is a ground-mounted photovoltaic plant and will have the ability to supply the equivalent of 30,000 Spanish homes with green electricity yearly.
RWE set up 97,740 bifacial modules on a location of about 97 hectares.
" The benefit of this method is that the bifacial cells are embedded in a double-sided glass module through which the solar radiation can be soaked up from both sides-- the front and the rear of the module. This will help to increase manufacturing," claimed the firm.
RWE Europe solar principal Katja Wünschel claimed: "The Spanish sun is an excellent partner of the energy transition. And cutting-edge technologies like the bifacial modules used at Casa Valdes help us to make the most effective out of this power source and also this site.
" I am likewise expecting the completion of our solar plants that are still incomplete as well as the further projects ahead in Spain as one of our core markets this year."
